The Healthy Benefits of Gratitude

Friday, January 25, 2013
contains a piece by Ocean Robbins noting studies which show how important gratitude is -

And ways to find joy -

He suggests we do the following "to build positive momentum toward a more happy and fulfilling life."

1) List 3 things you are thankful for and post entries first thing or just before bed. (I list 5 and try to remember to be thankful even for those things I don't quite understand.)

2) Tell a spouse, partner or friend something you appreciate about them every day.

And don't forget about yourself...
3) Look in the mirror and tell yourself your successes and something you like about yourself.
Great suggestions on our paths to becoming "AWAKE! ALIVE! AWARE! and Appreciative of ALL that IS".

Such a wonderful blog. Thanks for sharing the links. I already keep a journal by my bed and write it in it nightly with things that I am thankful for and things I aspire to do.

Love it, and of course, live by it. I start my day most mornings on one of the message boards, JANUARY GRATITUDES AND APPRECIATIONS - ALL ARE WELCOME (or very near that), then end most days in the ThanksGiving community team. My idea is that I start my day with a positive attitude of gratitude, then end each day, going into my dreams, filled with more gratitude.

Has definitely changed my life ...

Thanks for sharing, as always!!!

For sure, being positive and thinking positive thoughts really helps you move past any of the bad things going on. Can't all be bad.
Here is to celebrating what is going good in your life!

I especially like number 2 -- smartest luckiest thing I've ever done was marrying DH (and I let him know this once in awhile . . . !!)

It is very difficult to be negative and grateful at the same time. :) I try and make a gratitude list every day ~ if not on paper then in my head. It really is awesome and I find the negativity and depression, that I am prone to, absolutely dissolves. :) Thanks for the great blog. emoticon

I really enjoyed the articles too and thought those were excellent ideas. I now need to sit down and get all the great info and ideas I've been getting and actually sort out implementing themin a conscious way. Namaste.

I saw your gratitude today about something that hurt your pride. Guess that was gratitude for something you don't understand? Whatever it was, I hope the memory fades quickly for you.
