Still resting

Thursday, January 24, 2013

I haven't done a full out workout since Monday, and itis making me restless. I was thinking of going to the gym tomorrow and getting sweaty, but I think I should probably wait until Monday. That pulled muscle is still a little bit tender, and I don't want to push too hard. I know myself and if I go to the gym I can almost guarantee that I will push too hard. So, I will practice restraint and wait until monday.

It was a bit warmer today. In fact it got up to 15 degrees, and there was a little bit of sun. So, Cooper and I walked 6.8 miles. I had to pick him up and warm his paws a couple times, but overall he seemed happier with the weather today. Personally, I am ready for some warmer temps. My toes and fingers seem to be permanently cold these last few days. That is the only thing I miss about being overweight... the personal insulation.

I have company coming tomorrow afternoon. That should miss with Cooper's walking schedule, but he probably won't mind. He would probably like a light day, especially if it stays cold. His fur is so short it doesn't provide much insulation (though he does shed an awful lot).

I notice the cold more at work too. I used to wear short sleeve tops all the time and was fine. People thought I was nuts.

You walk lots, that counts, I know when you are able to do more, usually you want to do more, but don't be hard with yourself.

Have a nice day and a Marvelous weekend.

I love the snow but have to admit the subzero feeling cold can go - the 30's are coming and think it may feel like a heat wave!

Taking time off to get better is the best thing you can do for yourself. Stay warm!

Turnabout is fair play...Cooper should warm your hands and feet when you get home!

I am SO ready for warmer weather, too! But we were a balmy 27 today. emoticon I still have plenty of insulation on me, but am always FREEZING. I think it has to do with our metabolisms being in weight loss mode... just my theory.

I've been commenting on feeling colder this winter too! I'm glad you are taking time off to heal. You are going to be so much happier to fully heal and really be able to come back 100%
