So, GOODGETNBETR turned me on to this app called RunKeeper (I have it on my android, but you can use through a computer, too), and it has all kinds of training programs and tools to keep track of your runs. I love it! I am currently training with it for a marathon.
My new years goal was to make just one change: to take my vitamins every day. That one change has had a domino effect. It's funny how something so small can make you become more organized and in charge of your health routine. So, my new "goal" is to add two positive "Micro" changes every month. And I really mean small changes. I have a bit of a jump start on February, but my two changes are:
(1) rinsing with mouthwash when I brush my teeth, and
(2) listening to at least one "fight song" every morning while I get ready for work.
The "fight song" is really just whatever I have on my music playlist that will get me energized for the work day. Ever since I started a job that requires a substantial commute (sometimes 1.5 hours each way), I haven't wanted to get up and out of bed at all, much less enthusiastically. For the past few days, I've gotten up and danced to about 5 minutes of songs before getting to my routine (or honestly, WHILE I'm doing my morning routine). The change is making a significant impact on my mood and focus for the rest of the day. Cool, huh?
