My second personal training session is set for Wednesday the 30th. You may remember that my trainer had a family emergency and missed this second appointment a couple weeks ago. Then, about the time he was available, the dog and I collided and I had a week of a sore knee. Although I didn't cut out cardio, I did cut back, and I quit strength training on my legs for about 10 days. So, now he's back and I'm well and we'll try again.
I had a good strength training session on my own yesterday and awoke with just the right amount of soreness where I knew I had done a good workout, but the soreness wouldn't keep me from doing anything today. I swear my core felt noticeably tighter. I was really up for more strength training today, but I did what I'm suppose to and waited. I know the days in between the strength training sessions are really when your strength improves.
I can't wait for the challenge of my PT session and I'm approaching it with full force. Definitely don't want to postpone it again. I have just a touch of trepidation, though. I'm running my next 5K, the Rotary Twilight 5K, at 7pm on Friday, Feb. 1st, just two days after the PT session. So I'm hoping I'm not too sore to run. Oh, heck, I'll run sore if I have to. We'll see.
