My daughter went in for a normal checkup yesterday and her blood pressure, which has been high for awhile, is now causing concern. The baby isn't gaining weight as she should and there is a risk the placenta may be compromised. However, my daughter has been reassured over and over again that while the baby is small (around 5 pounds) she is FULL TERM, FULLY-DEVELOPED, and will not have any problems with lungs or anything else. She just won't be spending the last 3 weeks in the womb gaining weight.
So, DD has been in the hospital since yesterday morning as they tried to induce labor.
So the plan was to send her home this afternoon and have her come back tomorrow for another round of pitocin. The doctor was filling out the forms to discharge her when...HER WATER BROKE!
So, it's GAME ON!
I'm going to be a GRANDMOTHER! Or MEEMEE! Or GAMMA! Or MEEMAW! Or GRANNY (um, not really)! After such an emotional week I am ready for something happy to happen, and it IS.
God works in mysterious ways, does he not?
I am grateful.
