Before I get started on my Chemistry hw that's due tomorrow, just thought I would chat for a minute about my food this week. I've been on the wagon and off the wagon, and was talking to a Spark buddy this morning about why. On my days I lose control, I have an awesome b-fast and an awesome lunch, and then lose it by dinnertime because I've only had 600-700 calories all day, and I'm starving and I'll eat ANYTHING...and then I do!!! So today I decided to eat more earlier in the day, so I won't have that happen. This is the hardest part of my day, and I feel good right now. I just had PB&J on whole wheat when I got home from school, and I'm good until dinner now.
I had lunch with the Two Blokes today and met the owner, who has an adorable accent! I had Texas chili with rice, and it was awesome. Only thing I would've done differently would've been to add beans...not because I like them, because I don't...but to add fiber and protein.
Anyway, I talked husband into joining me and he was pretty funny. He has never been on campus with me during school, and the 20,000 classmates swarming around him really tripped him out! Then he had never fed a parking meter before so that was a new experience for him.
After my classes were over, I filled my water bottle and headed to the bus stop. I am falling in love with public transportation. I get on the bus free with my school ID, and it is reliable and always where I expect it to be. The bus stop is a block from my house, and it drops me off right on campus. There's still a lot of walking on a campus that big, but it's not bad.
I'm working on drinking my water too, even in cold weather. I don't have time to make hot tea, so I just make sure I fill my free Camelbak bottle I got from the fitness center last semester. ;)
Couple more things...today I brought a blanket to school with me. My first 2 classes are in the same room, and I have a window seat, and it's freezing. It'll be nice in April, but not right now! Also, I ran 2.8 miles this morning while it was 6F outside, so the rest of the morning I had a lot of trouble getting warm. BTW, I had a horrible time getting out of bed for that. I woke up at 4:45am but I didn't actually make it outside until 5:30am!!! I almost went to the gym to run inside...but I hate running inside, so I just dressed warm and sucked it up.
Last thing, I promise. And it's not even SP-related. Last night I met up with one of my study partners for our number theory class, and we were working on our statistics hw together because we're in that class together too. Long story short, she didn't know how to do long division. Seriously. So I got to show her how to do "Math From the 70's", the way I've been doing it for years!!! She's half my age, but still, I can't believe that's not being taught in schools anymore. And of course, my worst fear is, I'll get a job teaching math, and I'll be expected to teach the Everyday Math curriculum, and I won't have a clue what to do. (However, at least I've understood all the Everyday Math home-communication that comes to me from my kids' schools.)
Okay, so that should do it from me. A mixed bag of thoughts to chew on. Have a great weekend! :)
