Who needs negative people? Not me!

Thursday, January 24, 2013

I talk about an unsupportive friend and how he made me feel.

EDIT: This friend is not a physician yet, we're both still medical students. He is not overweight, just in need of some serious education.

Excellent video blog and congratulations on your engagement! Good for you for wanting to keep positive people in your life as well as setting those boundaries for your friend. I hope he will take your words and feelings into consideration and give you the respect and care you are due!

Good for you! Sounds like he may have some issues or a hidden agenda. May be wise just to avoid talking to him about weight loss.

He just sounds like a very opinionated person. I bet if you think about this he is like this on most subjects but none have pushed your button like this one. If you like other things about him and want to keep him as a friend just tell him you do not wish to discuss your weight loss with him or want his opinions on it. He will notice when you lose the weight and then you can discuss what you did and he can change his mind about things.

Good luck, I know you will be successful in your weight loss.

Don't worry about what this guy says, he obviously doesn't know what he's talking about. If he doesn't have something positive to say he just needs to keep his mouth closed. This is the exact reason it's hard to start out with a healthy lifestyle, too many people want to give their opinion on how you should be doing things. I have only told a few of my close friends what I'm doing. It will be interesting to see how long it takes for anyone to notice a change. You're doing great. Just keep up the good work!
