FIRECOM, you got this one so right.....

Thursday, January 24, 2013

I know many of you, get SP e-mails, and follow them to the letter. I, for one, READ them and LEARN so much! Today, was no exception. From SP member, FIRECOM, was the BLOG ....

As I read this BLOG, I so agreed with the statements, but it was FOR ME, as well. SparkPeople is a TOOL, a GREAT TOOL, but like so many "tools," one being the GASTRIC BYPASS surgery, like I HAD in 1984, I STILL DID NOT LEARN the things I had to complete, to know about ME.

I have been on diet, after diet, you name it, and more than likely I tried it! So WHY did they NOT WORK? Because I wanted the quick fix, overnight results.....oh it didn't happen! Why not? Because I still did not take it a step at a time, and DO IT!

If SparkPeople taught me one thing, it was to JUST DO IT, CONSISTENTLY! One day at a time, one step at a time, but keep at it!!!

We just came back from a week of vacation, and I did everything to the BEST OF MY ABILITY.
And I ate well, following in my ranges, and walked 10,000 to over 15000 steps each day! And yes, when we got back I was "higher" on the scale than when I left, but this HAPPENS EACH TIME WE TRAVEL! I call it "AIR TRAVEL WEIGHT!" Because I lost 6lbs, back to normal, within two days!!! It happens all the time, so I do not get upset about it....do I wish I was smaller? Of course! But I also know, that it will be harder and harder for the pounds to come off...but I WILL NOT STOP! All my "small changes" are lifestyle changes, forever changes, I can, and will keep up!

The best of this is something I hear all the time, which even I can not believe it....."OMG, you are so small! What do you weigh 140-145 pounds?" To which I feel is NOT SOMETHING I AM WILLING TO SHARE with just anyone, but NO, I AM NOT THAT TINY!!! In fact, I weigh 183-184 pounds, DOWN 80 POUNDS, thank you very much. So yes, I have lots of POUNDS to drop, and will! But I feel so much better, active, healthier, less pain in my joints, and the list goes on....

So..."IF SPARKPEOPLE IS SO GREAT, WHY AM I NOT THIN? " I only have one point to make....because I am NOT DONE, YET! I will never be done, because it will be for LIFE, my LIFE, and the LIVES of those that I hope to inspire, so my example, my life, my changes, and what THEY can do, if we learn to USE the TOOLS. Okay, so I think I will go pick up one of my tools....a video, and USE IT! What tool will you use?

That was a great blog from Firecom-great guy there!! I am not done either and working at those lifestyle changes takes time and all the bad habits will melt away as time goes on!
I hate to brag- but I will- I didn't gain any one our vacation last week!!! emoticon Must be something to that air travel weight, because if you walked that much (which is what we did too)-there shouldn't have been a gain. Also, that sodium can kick you in the behind when you eat out at restaurants!! Hope you had a great time! Are you gonna post a blog with photos of your adventure in FL? Would love to see it! emoticon
    Have a great week! emoticon

HAHA!! that saying is an eye opener. IT is like saying,"If oranges have rinds, why are grapes so purple?" Not relation to either subject.
