Lrn 2 Zumba

Hooray! I think I've figured out how to really enjoy Zumba, and I was essentially right about the needing to eat WAY more in the morning/noon hours before class. Then a light dinner.
The dinner part was a bit of a challenge, because I was ravenous and very carby. I had a thin pb&j sandwich as we were leaving class, which came to 180 calories.
I did end up going over my range by 93 lousy calories last night. We went to Subway and I had a double chicken chopped salad with yogurt dressing - 220 calories, TONS of protein. I also got a chocolate cookie, 210 calories.
And actually, that was all in range! It brought me to about 1800 calories for the day. C decided he didn't want a sandwich and came home and made chili mac. After I ate my salad and cookie, I was still really hungry. I waited 45 minutes and drank a big cup of hot tea to warm up. I chewed a stick of mint gum.
No dice. Still genuinely hungry.
So I had a little half cup of C's chili mac. Which was totally delicious, and not terribly bad at about 120 calories. That finally put the growling in my stomach to rest. I finished the day at 1913 calories, but the top of my range is 1820. So, 93 calories over. I did get 132g of protein and 28g of fiber yesterday. Could be worse! Has been worse in the past, even.
Live and learn, I suppose! Next week, I'll probably skip the cookie with my salad. Without that sucker, I would have been in range. And instead of a sandwich after class, I'll have a Builder's bar which has more calories, but also a heap of protein that might help me curb my carbyness.
Altogether, I'm calling yesterday a success because I got in one MEGA workout, remembered a lot of the steps and songs, and had a wonderful time. I overate by a lousy 100 calories, but since it's my ToM and I have been doing a lot of ST, I'm not worried about that in the least.
Tonight is grocery shopping, core ST and doing dishes. Tomorrow is Friday! Woop woop.
