Who knew! All about a proper squat

1. I assume a wide stance
2. I bend my knees a bit
3. Straighten my spine, keep it as vertical as possible
4. I dig my heels in; ground them! I am very angry
5. Jut my butt out, I mean way out. Then THRUST it up toward the ceiling. Not a pretty sight, but, hell, boys, you'll get over it.
6. Throw my chin out ahead of my nose
7. My spine is straight as possible. My stance is very wide
8. Now I lower my buttocks to (at least) below my knees
9. Very slowly, using my legs, with spine straight, I raise myself to standing position and shake it out

Next I'll work toward squatting on my haunches, then a deadlift. I hurt my back so I won't try this again today


WRONG!

    you are too funny! and i love that pic. i bet they had to do it a little wrong so their slippery black pattens would slide out from under them leaning back on their heals! wow! scarey thought those ladies doing that on that floor in those clothes! hahaha thanks for you nice visiual step by step . i like that! :)

    Ugh, tried it and had a lot of knee pain. I can get to 90 degrees but not to butt below knees without that pain. Guess I'll just keep doing what I'm able to.
