Yesterday my sister challenged me. She challenged me to become her accountability partner for eating. We decided that we would both text pictures of our food to help each other stay on track with eating healthy. I loved that she brought this up because food has always been my downfall. So we started yesterday....
There is something about telling people, or showing them, what you ate. If you eat bad, you feel guilty but you are owning up to what ever you stick in your mouth. Here is how yesterday looked....
Breakfast: High fiber oatmeal w/ coffee
AM Snack: Bagel w/ cream cheese and a banana
Lunch: I know... not the best. I am trying to stay away from processed foods but there is just something about the convenience of these meals.
Afternoon Snack: 1 apple cut up w/ 2 T. of peanut butter.... YUM!
Dinner: It was left over night so I had some left over pork and made a strawberry/blueberry spinach salad w/ strawberry vinaigrette dressing
I ran during my lunch and then did an hour of walking after dinner. Once I got home from walking, I was pretty hungry. I didn't want to eat anything else but I knew that if I didn't eat something.... it would be very hard to fall asleep. So I shared some kettle popcorn with my son.
All in all it was a great day of eating and exercising. I did go over my calories slightly but I worked out so much that my body needed the extra cals.
I also spent time cleaning last night, did 3 loads of laundry, read pieces of my fitness magazines, and was in bed by 9:30! SCORE!
This month in my Whole Living magazine they have new recipes for smoothies. I can't wait to try out some of them.
Today is already off to a great start and I feel it is because this week has been going so good. Actually the last few weeks have felt great. I am motivated.... and I like that!
I started with a good (but very filling) breakfast this morning. I wasn't sure of the calories until after I logged them and was quite surprised actually. I also wasn't sure how the smoothie I made was going to taste but it was really good! Here is what I had....
I added: 1/2 c. of blueberries, handful of spinach, 1/2 c. of greek yogurt, 1 c. of almond milk
It turned out green like I thought it would. Very tasty!
I also had oatmeal. In my oatmeal I added: 1/2 c. of oats, 1 c. of almond milk, dash of cinnamon, blueberries, and half a banana.
This was really good too. The only problem.... it was too much. My tummy was getting very full so I let my son help me drink some of the smoothie. All in all the calories for my breakfast was only 465. I was kind of surprised by this because with all the dairy... I thought it would have been more calories.
I needed to have a good breakfast this morning because today is weight lifting day. I will be working with the kettlebells!
The left over half of banana was added for my pre-work out snack. I made a whole wheat thin peanut butter banana sandwich.
That should give me some good protein!
