Beware brass monkeys!

Thursday, January 24, 2013

It's still very cold out there! The temperature reads -26 C but feels like -35. And there's a wind chill warning still in effect. It went down to -40 last night.

I went to the barn last night. Had the heater on full blast in the car and a blanket over my legs (so wimpy in the cold).

I put a 300g liner blanket underneath Leo's light winter blanket. To keep him warmer since he's clipped. My toes started to freeze so I didn't stay long.

They kept the horses in all day to keep the water from freezing and they don't like being out in that wind either.

One more sleep until the weekend!

I hear ya about the weather. Right now we're sitting at -18C, windchill -35C with wind gusts up to 60km right now expecting them to increase to 70km, light snow coming down now too. Visibility already bad, expected to get worse.... hope DH picks up the kids at 5:30 - 2 different schools, 2 different towns. I like rural living usually, mostly in the spring, summer and fall LOL.

The weather page says Blowing Snow Warning in Effect (just incase you don't have a window, or you're slightly hard of hearing). Lovely day on the prairies! Stay warm! CJ
