My Adventure....Week 4

Thursday, January 24, 2013

Well it has been a heck of a week. Last Friday was my son's second foot surgery. We all figured that since he already had the right foot done in August that the left foot was going to be a breeze. NOT!!!! Last time we went in on a Friday and was home by Sunday. This time we went in on Friday and did not get home until this past Tuesday. For some reason they could not control his pain with the meds. It also didn't help that the doctor who did the surgery was not on call this past weekend like he was for the first surgery and Jared was not impressed that the doc was not around. I think the more aggravated he got with all the different people coming into the room that was not his doctor the more the pain got worse. The brain can play many a trick on you.
As for me, I was not able to log on to SparkPeople, well I was but on my son's IPOD. That screen is so small, I couldn't do it. So I just wrote everything I ate in a notebook and wore my pedometer like a good girl. The problem is that it is very hard to know nutritional facts from hospital food or take out food that are ordered from private owners. So when I finally got home, I tracked the best I could. I know the numbers are wrong but what are you going to do right? I did my best. I kept texting my friend for moral support and thank God for Margie. However, I was afraid that I gained weight due to all I ate and not sure what the #'s were. But I am happy to say that I stayed the same weight from last week....
I may not have lost, but I didn't gain and that is important after the week I had. So "YAY ME!" Now off to a brand new week. Pic is called God's Promise.

With the stress you coped with it's amazing you even thought about and tried to control the weight on top of it. Good job. Keep us posted on Jared's progress.

You did the best you could. I think it's pretty great that you tried to track it at all. I think in that situation I would have just tossed those few days to the side. emoticon
