I face the struggle to get myself motivated to exercise ... every day.
Years ago, when I was in my most successful weight loss mode
EXERCISE was the key that really got things going.
I was ultra strict with the food
(50 SHADES OF STEAMED GREEN VEGETABLES) and
I walked 2 miles before work
I walked 2 miles at lunch
I did aerobics after work.
the pounds just melted and people would caution me that
I was losing too fast...frankly, they didn't see everything I did to get there.
NOW, I eat a healthy balanced diet that has become my lifestyle,
But I continue to struggle with EXERCISE.
I have to PUSH myself to do 30 minutes, 20 minutes...5 minutes.
But it's all about DOING....
DO anything that gets me up and moving
DO something ... even sitting in a chair.
I can talk myself out of things ....OR I can stop talking and start DOING.
Yesterday, I tried taking a few 5 minute breaks during the day
to do some strength training/cardio intervals.
The weather is too cold outside. Time for getting cardio inside.
I have 2 Rubbermaid step stools that stand 9 inches off the floor ($10 each)
And I have my pair of 5 lb. dumbbells ($7 each).
So I would do my arm exercises as I went up and down the step stools,
and I kept changing my movements.
By the end of 5 minutes my heart was pumping and I was tired.
Movement ....spontaneous ,
A little ingenuity goes a long way.
Today I'll try something different.
