Another cold day

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

It was 14 degrees warmer today, which means it was only -3 degrees. That is still wicked cold, but it made a difference. I still kept Cooper's walks short, but he didn't pick up as much ice in his paws. I bought him boots last winter, but he can't stand them. In fact I only put them on him when I need a belly laugh, because he is so funny in his attempts to get them off again.

I didn't go to the gym today, but I still kept my fitness streak alive. Just barely, but I did 121 minutes today, mostly walking. My groin isn't healed yet, so I will do another light day tomorrow, and see where I am on Friday. I am getting a little stir crazy between the snow and cold and the restricted workouts. If I don't go to the gym on Friday then I am definitely going on Monday.

I made a big pot of chili this afternoon. This is good weather for hot soup. I have been eating just below my suggested calorie range since I have had to cut back on my workouts. That just makes sense to me.

Sounds good to me. I wish I was able to get in 120 minutes. I was only able to do 60 today. It was just a really bad day.

That is hard when you have to restrict yourself so much when a person is used to doing as much exercise as you are!
Don't try and make up for lost time when the weather gets better! LOL!

You crack me up...120 minutes walking wouldn't be considered a rest day by most standards... you much have put in at least 6-7 miles!

I guess it's all relative (temp) -17* or -3*, but it all sounds frigid too me! lol. You are amazing to keep your fitness streak alive considering you have a groin injury!
Thx for the giggle about Cooper being annoyed by his booties. If he only knew how much warmer his little paws would be if he would wear them. lol.

Chili is a great idea! We are also in the deep freeze, but compared to your temps, I guess we are having balmy's 5 degrees right now. I would love to see a picture of cooper in boots. We have a jacket for our dog, Bentley. He hates his jacket but he does look cute in it.
Anyways, congratulations to you for continuing to push ahead on your program!
I love reading about your progress here and on our team! emoticon
