The Scale....

I think I am doing pretty good with this scale-avoidance thing. In a recent blog of mine I mentioned that I used to get on it daily when I am trying to lose weight. But recently I have been doing pretty good about NOT getting on it. Some mornings I think about getting on there, I'm tempted. But then I'm like, No, I can wait until the weekend.

So I wonder how long I really CAN go without getting on the scale....???? How long have any of you gone?? Maybe I can check my progress by just taking body measurements and check in with the scale once a month??? Is that too extreme??

Opinions?? Thoughts???

    I get on the scale every few days to keep track of what my body is doing in regards to my diet and balance of fluids. Some days it bumps up but if I stay on track...or at least not too far off base it always settles favorably. I especially love the feeling of putting on clothes that were too tight to have them fit comfortably or loose.

    The scale is a tool, something to tell you whether or not your program is sufficient to accomplish your goal. It isn't there to judge you, or tell you if you "got away with something". I weigh every day at goal, but when I was losing I only weighed once a week. I stuck to my Plan, though, so once a week was enough.

    I think if the scale is a problem for you, staying off is a good thing, but I also think you need more feed back than just once a month. Weekly might give you a better gauge of your progress and point you to any correction you may need.
