23 January: Why, thank you.

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

I'm a little bummed out. Someone asked me today if I was pregnant. Usually, my response is snarky and quippish, but today I just walked away. Something about turning the other cheek ;) Anyway, I met two of my goals for today, maybe a third can be squeezed in before bed.

I was happy though, I was out with munchkins and they were being disrespectful. I firmly told them they needed to straighten out their behavior or we were going to throw away the ice cream cones and go home. They kept it up so I said it was time to go. They protested, but I explained that they broke the rules and that was their choice so they also chose to throw away their treat and go home. They grudgingly complied and I made them apologize to the other patrons in the store for being too loud. The older gentlemen got up and got the door for us and when I was walking out he said, "You know, I have seen a lot in my day. You just don't see parents disciplining their kids anymore and the kids are just awful. I respect what you did in there. They are going to turn out great, just don't give up. You're a good mom, I can see that. I wish more parents were like you." The look on his face was priceless when I told him I was the nanny, not the mother. He said it still held true though (and I completely agree, too many parents give in). It's nice to be appreciated.

Alright, gonna finish up some homework and get to bed. Night!

Good for meeting 2 of your goals and I agree, try to ignore those comments. Some people just don't know...

Really great job on following through with the kids. And don't pay attention to the comments about your weight...some people have no class. Even the other day I was watching Kelly and Michael, and Michael said the cardinal rule is never ask a woman if she's pregnant when you don't know her. Some people just don't think. You're doing awesome anyway!

Good job with the kids whether they were yours or not. Everyone needs to learn boundaries, the sooner the better. Keep up the good work!
