My doctor was really happy with my progress! She was actually excited about my weigh in! Last June I was 221 at an office visit. Today the scale said 174
She asked me what I was doing differently and I replied it really is as easy as eating healthier foods and being more active. Before I would have a dozen cookies for lunch while watching TV and followed by a candy bar or ice cream for dessert. Now I have healthy choices available for lunch and am intentionally active!
Then she asked me what resources I've been using and I told her about Spark People. I told her about the recipes and the videos, the blogs, the articles and teams. I even showed her the app on my phone
She asked a few more questions about it and seemed genuinely thrilled with my answers and said she was going to look into it.
So it would not surprise me at all if my physician shows up on here sometime soon!
Also, she cleared me for running
and, when I was done, my dad and I went to Cracker Barrel where I had a healthy brunch.
So, yes, I got to spread the spark to another (more influential!) person AND I got only good news about my general health AND she cleared me for running as long as I start slow (i.e., C25K), AND I got to have a healthy meal after fasting BUT let's not let all that overshadow the really important thing here... 47 POUNDS GONE, BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!
