What's Cookin', Good Lookin' - Round One!

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

We are doing a super fun game over on the Maintainer's Team. You post a recipe that you want to try, you try it, and then you review it on your blog!

My first recipe was this Ham and Noodle Casserole

I like to buy a big ham when it is on sale and cut it up and store in the freezer to use for recipes later. This recipe was simple and utilized that ham well. I didn't intend on making a lot of changes, but I used cream of mushroom instead of cream of chicken and cheddar instead of mozzarella. I cut the noodles down to 10 oz, just cause I thought 12 oz was too much. I forgot the sour cream. Oops.

This was good. The kids and adults ate it with no complaint. However, next time, I will probably use spaghetti noodles instead of these. This would also probably freeze well. I might make two 8x8 casseroles and freeze one.

I agree - Farfalle are great for the sauce!

Looks good! Farfalle (bowties) would probably be great for this, the sauce would get in the little crevices. Yum!
