Enough Food IF we share

There is enough food in the world, but not everyone in the world has enough food.

Here on SparkPeople we are all battling to reduce the amount of food we eat, but there are still more children dying of hunger than AIDs, malaria and tuberculosis combined. In fact, two million people die each year because of malnutrition.

There is enough food in the world, but not everyone in the world has enough food.

The effects of hunger have a far more hidden cost because when children donít get nutritious food as babies: it can prevent them growing and developing healthily; they grow up stunted; their bodies and minds never mature properly, severely limiting their ability to learn and then earn a living when they grow up.

There is enough food in the world, but not everyone in the world has enough food.

But IF we work together, it doesn't have to be like this. World Vision has joined with over 100 UK based charities, to launch the IF campaign to take action against global hunger.

There is enough food in the world, but not everyone in the world has enough food.

Thank you for posting about this. It breaks my heart to think we have so much that it's become an epidemic of having-too-much, at least in the US and probably many other "western" countries, when there are so many people who don't have the luxury of the potential to suffer from obesity (if that makes sense). In other words - not enough food. Great blog topic.
