I'm doing this because I have migraines, or at least something like them. For twenty-four hours I am crippled by nausea, vomiting, sensitivity to light, and a tight knot in the nape of my neck.
I think this happens due to toxicity build-up (whatever that means!) and so I am systematically removing potentially toxic foods from my diet (such as soy, dairy, red meat and wheat) for 21 days and then gently reintroducing them while monitoring the results.
I've also gone to the doctor for a prescription in case I am seized by another migraine (or whatever it is).
This morning I woke up hungry, but I made myself a careful morning smoothie and drank it over 10-15 minutes rather than bolting it down. I also set up a meal plan for half the week and I'm off to do careful shopping to get some items! About 3 hours after breakfast I was hungry again so I had a snack.
I've decided that for the first week I can have a "treat" once a day. Today it was one Sausalito cookie (YUM!) my husband got them for me when I was ill as something I could look forward to. This was before I decided to go on the Clean. Tomorrow I'll probably nibble some of the porkchop he made (while pork is prohibited on the diet, I feel that it *is* the other white meat!)
Next week I'll only have 3 treat days, and the following week I'll have none. That way I should be able to properly re-set my system without going BONKERS!
