Day 12: I am my own diet sabetour

Today's SparkCoach lesson was about those around you who sabotage your diet and how to deal with them. I started to wonder...who is my diet sabetour? I ran through the list of family members, co-workers, friends...and to be real honest...none of them sabotage my diet.

So...what happens if I am my own diet sabetour? How do I "handle" that. I know that my mind has to be where it should be for my program to work. But what about those times where my head isn't in the right place?

Any comments on this topic would be great.

I can email my SparkCoach on Friday. I may have to ask them this question and see what they suggest.

On another note...yoga last night was IN-FREAKING-CREDIBLE!!! I absolutely love my yoga class and look forward to going again on Thursday.

Tonight I'm taking my dog on a walk. There is a park near my home that has a trail with 2 major hills. My goal is going to be to walk the hills 4 times...one way then back, then repeat. Wish me luck.

    I feel that pain- I am my best cheerleader and worst enemy! I am still finding a balance between them- I hope you find some great answers from SC! I have not made it to that session yet, but I look forward to the message and will contemplate it now!

    This is something that you will struggle with til you hit some sort of AH-HA moment. Keep looking for motivation and keep processing the information you see when you look at your food and exercise logs. You'll see patterns or maybe it's a lack of pattern. Eventually something will hit home hard and you'll get your moment when AH-HA you've got it!! And that moment will drive you closer to your goals.

It's never just one moment, so never stop striving for the next one. Think of them as like a tank of gas. It gets you on your way and in the right direction as long as you point yourself there but it's better to top it up then to let it run out and feel lost or hopeless again.

Just keep hanging in there and keep looking for inspiration. Have you ever checked out SparkPages of some of the SparkPeople Motivators on here? It's under the Community Tab. I also use the Secrets of Success and the Success Stories that are under the Community Tab as well, to motivate me and eventually inspiration strikes again and it helps to keep pushing me in the right direction =]

    I think I may be my own sabetour as well. Fortunately everyone around me understands and supports me. Especially my kids when they see me eying the cheese puffs for example at the supermarket they say, "mom calories!", it's so annoying and cute at the same time.
But for me I think willingness is a big part of my journey and when I find myself or things falling apart around me I try and call someone to vent. I would ask your spark coach as well, I would like to hear what they say.
