C passed his tests yesterday with FLYING colors. His results came back instantly and not only is he qualified for the position he applied for, but several technician positions above that, all call center positions, all office positions, all their data center positions... Basically, everything CenturyLink does, C can do!

He was really pleased with himself, and I'm dang proud of him. I knew he was smart and he knew he was smart, but now we have some pieces of paper to back it up! haha

The test took him until around 4:30, and then he stopped to see if my brother needed anything before he left town. And then my dad called him to see if he could help with something before he left town. And so on and so forth. He didn't mention this when he called, he just called to say that he wouldn't be able to pick me up from work because he was still in Omaha.

So, I was mad at him for about an hour because I had to walk home in some very, very chilly temps! But hey, it was an extra 15 fitness minutes and he stayed in town to help out my family, so I wasn't mad for too long. I got in a fabulous 45 minutes on my stationary bike when I got home, too.

Then I heated some leftovers for dinner, popped some popcorn and poured a cup of blueberries and pomegranate seeds for Doctor Who, which we watched with my buddy Aaron, and it was super fun! We make a little private chat room and sit in front of the TV with our laptops and watch together over Skype. It's essentially like hanging out, but long distance! We have a lot of practice at this, since it's been the only method of "hanging out" we've had for 2 or 3 years.

My ranges were perfect yesterday, too. It was a successful day all around!

Today is Zumba! Last week after class, I was in kinda sh!tty shape. My blood sugar bottomed out and I felt really sick. I realized that was because an hour+ of Zumba burns about 675 calories for me... and I had eaten only about 800 calories that day by the time class rolled around. When you figure up what my body uses in calories just to be alive + Zumba's burn... Well, it's no small wonder why I was in bad shape.

Today, I'm trying to combat that by eating 1800 calories, or just under my limit. Of these, I'll eat about 1200 calories throughout the day before class. Then, I'll have a snack and a big dinner salad after class. I also plan to walk the half mile home from class to give my muscles a longer cool down and try to avoid the calf cramp I had last week.

Hopefully all of these factors will combine into another super successful day!

    Sounds like you had a great plan for tonight and I hope it worked out well! Definitely have something after your work out. I drink 8 oz of Coconut/Almond Milk with protein powder after I workout so that could always be an option. Find something that works for you!

    I hope your dude gets the job he wants. Sounds like he's got lots of options there, and that's always a good thing!

Have fun at Zumba! I would always stash a banana or apple in my purse and eat it on the way home so I didn't devour everything in sight when I got there. Shake it!

    Way to go C!!!

I think it's great that you are making adjustments to your routine/plan to be able to work out the kinks with Zumba. Some people (clears throat...not naming names here) throw in the towel after one bad experience. Yeah. It took me many months to gather the courage to go back to Zumba. I love it now. I'm in a class with an instructor I like and is "dumbed down" for the coordination challenged. I'm slowly catching on.

    Yay! Great news all around!

Zumba makes me hungry too -- I try to eat a snack during my drive from work to class (it always falls around dinner time, so that doesn't help things!). Usually it's an apple, sometimes paired with string cheese or goldfish crackers. Zumba ROCKS!

    Awesome day! Good for you for looking at the positive of 15 fitness minutes even though it sounds like it was freezing! Awesome job at getting in 45 minutes on your bike!! I love your attitude! Nothing keeps you down!

You and your bike have inspired me! I just got mine in the mail last night and I can't wait to use it (hopefully tonight)! I have tried several other pieces of exercise equipment in the past that never worked because I didn't use them. Thankfully they were given to me, so I wasn't out money...but here I am... still out of shape! I am hoping this time will be different. No excuses! And, no clothes are allowed to touch it unless they are the clothes that I am wearing!! It will not become a clothes hanger/junk pile!

    Excellent plan for tonight - like your outlook!

I recommend a regular Clif bar after Zumba class, or at least something in the 200-250 calorie range, good mix of carbs to protein.
