I have good news and bad news, I will start with the bad to get it over with and end up with the positive/good stuff.
*roll eyes* OK I guess I'm going to have to try harder. This week no weight loss. I know that in large part it is because my birthday was Saturday and I seriously overate and splurged. I also don't think it is a coincidence that I lost 2 pounds the first week of the year before my tenant moved in, half a pound the first week and no pounds this second week.... Then I didn't help things when yesterday I opted to ignore nutrition and eat whatever I felt like because I was going to the stock show (fair around here in January). I stopped at BK for the first time in at least a month (I love their iced vanilla coffee, and those cinnabons are wickedly tasty), had chicken fingers and fries for lunch, got two cherry limeades from my favorite stand out there, then I came home intending to be better for dinner (saying no to the corn dog that I really wanted lol) and my tenant had pizza ready for me...and today I am feeling it. OMG I made myself track the food from yesterday on my tracker to see how overboard I went, but blah.
My tenant is a super nice lady, but she is complaining about gaining weight and she eats so much and it is all bad stuff. Last night she wanted me to be proud of her because she didn't eat half of the pizza like she normally would. IT IS FROZEN PIZZA. Yes I am glad that you didn't eat half of the pizza, or the whole pizza like I've been known to do, but eating less of the same crap is only going to get you so far. She made the comment that she used my scale and was up a pound from last time she weighed, and that she'd see next week if her "healthy change" had made any difference. Honey, if your healthy change is eating less frozen pizza, your body is not going to react to that in a week unless you are seriously overweight and eat LOTS of pizza for every meal...and even then I'm not so sure.
I also screwed up my meatless Monday, so that kind of got this week off on the wrong foot food-wise.
Anyway, enough complaining. The GOOD thing I wanted to mention is that Monday it was nice enough to start my walking around the lake at lunch on days that I am home routine. So that was 1.1 miles to add to my steps for Monday. Then I decided to go to the gym Monday night. Usually I avoid the gym like the plague on Mondays and Tuesdays because it is so busy, but I went over there at 9pm and it was great. Caught part of a show I wanted to watch while I was on the treadmill (they got some new treadmill screens that attach to the treadmill and you can plug your headphones in and change the channel you're watching. I didn't have my headphones so I just read the CC but hey, it was fun and next time I'll bring headphones. I was on the treadmill for 16 minutes and did two short jogging sprints instead of just walking the whole time. Pretty sure my knees are screaming because I did that, but watching them push on the biggest loser made me do it lol After the treadmill I went in and enjoyed the steam room for probably about the same amount of time. I walked in and was like "Hello old friend!!" My skin, my hair, my muscles...everything just seems to love the steam room.
So even though I don't walk much on days that I work from home, I got the lake walk and the gym time in so I actually had a pretty good step count (for me) on Monday even though I was at home. Yesterday was a relatively active day for me too as I walked around quite a bit. I'm going back to the stock show on Friday after work with my mom and we'll be eating dinner there, so that will be a high calorie meal too, but not as bad because it is usually not awful bad for you.
So, I need to try harder and I WILL start making progress again. I have a particular weight milestone that I'd really like to hit sooner than later and it has been elusive so far.
