I made spaghetti pie for the first time last week. It was super easy and delicious. My husband said it was a keeper.
Below is the recipe if you are interested in trying it yourself. It reminded me of lasagna only a lot less work to make.
6 oz. spaghetti
2 tbs. butter
1/3 cup Parmesan cheese
2 well beaten eggs
1 cup fat free cottage cheese
1/2 lb. lean ground beef
13 oz. spaghetti sauce
1/2 cup grated mozzarella cheese
Cook spaghetti according to package directions and drain. Stir butter into hot spaghetti. Add Parmesan cheese and eggs. Form crust in the bottom of a pie plate sprayed with non-stick cooking spray. Brown ground beef and drain. Add spaghetti sauce. Set aside. Spread cottage cheese over crust. Spread meat mixture over cottage cheese. Bake in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. Top with 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese and a slight sprinkle of Italian seasoning if desired. Bake for 5 minutes longer.
Number of Servings: 6
According to the recipe there are 371 calories per serving. A serving filled me up so it was my entire dinner.
