Bad news!

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

I hate posting bad news but it just goes to show that we all have good days and bad days. Well we had an awful day yesterday as we found out from our attorney that the decision that the court made finding us not guilty has now been appealed by the Ministrio Publico...which is like the district attorney. This is complete horse sh__!!! What happened is that when we were all "in court" for the hearing last month, our attorney was approached and asked if he wanted to "guarantee that the decision wasn't appealed", meaning...pay a bribe. Our attorney didn't pay the bribe so now our case has been appealed. So now we have to fight this again in Federal court. It is absolutely crazy!!! No rhythm or reason to it! We had so much proof...even the only guy who showed up for the other side recanted his story and told the court that he had to say lies to save his job. And the report that the gas tanks they said we stole are in the garage on there property.....Air! Our attorney says that we should be found non guilty again but it will take more money and time.

The good news is that even though we got that awful news, I knew once again how important it is for me to eat right and exercise to help with the stress. So instead of sucking down beers which I really wanted to do to numb the pain, I didn't! I ate right and exercised yesterday and feel good today. I was also down a pound of the weight gained from the Chili's meal. One more pound down and will be at goal but want to get down below goal for the next splurge.

Anyway, I know we will get through this but a an ugly cloud this puts on your daily life. I just want to live in peace!

Here's to eating right and getting that exercise in even in the face of very stressful times!
Hope all my sparks buddies are having a great day!
Sallie

That really sucks Sallie. Hope the rest of this goes well! I can totally understand why your hubby is considering leaving Mexico. It is difficult to trust anyone like that. Even your lawyer.
Well I will be spending time in court today... And with these high stress levels I really can't go without my workouts. The tough part for me is eating balanced when I am stressed. Normally I can limit my grains and not eat what others are eating just because I see it and want some but right now it is harder. I just know that if I force myself to eat on the low end and make myself feel deprived it can backfire and be even worse. I feel like i will have less patience for the boys if I am irritable or feel so deprived that I Will reach for the really bad stuff like sugar or alcohol... I hope after today the stress will start to diminish.

you didn't binge and kept to eating healthy. You
will lose that extra pound quickly because of your
discipline. I admire you and will pray for a good
outcome. emoticon

This is AWFUL I cannot believe this. Does it not want you to come back to the states??? What a corrupt place to spend out your retirement. Sallie the only thing that is left is prayer.I am not even involved & when I was reading what you said I actually felt sick in my stomach.Take care & keep up your healthy eating. So many of us would have kept under the covers & indulged because of the stress. You are showing all of us in the midst of despair you can still rise above it to continue on with your strong constitution within you.

So sorry to hear that :( It will take many more years for the mexican court system to catch up with the 21st century. Paying a bribe is wrong but it would have made the problem go away. Oh well - at least you did the right thing and despite having to go through the process all over again, you will come out on top! Don't lose hope.

Why am I not surprised? Oh, that's right, I lived in the Far East, Europe, and the Middle East, where certain foreign justice is to justice like military music is to music!

Wishing you the best, Sallie! Hang in there!

That's just not right. Sad that the people that are suing you are American. Guess that's where the word dirty came from. Glad you're not letting it disrupt your live any more than it has to.

It's wonderful that you can handle this stress without jeopardizing your health or giving up on that weight goal you have worked so hard to achieve. You should be very proud of yourself!!

That said, so sorry for your troubles. Isn't fair. Isn't right. Isn't deserved. Hang in there, Sallie. Eventually this will be behind you. -Marsha

Oh Sallie this is upsetting! What I find amazing is that these people are getting away with this! Why is such ludicrosity even tolerated? Is this just a way for the lawyers to make money?

What a mess. Makes you realize although the US has its own issues there are some things that work, more or less, properly. We get used to counting on it and then you run into something like this elsewhere. Hang in there!
