I have been trying out protein powders for the last week to find one that I enjoy and doesn't make me feel weighed down. I tried two whey and they were very good, however I felt kind of slow moving after drinking it.
I tried several no whey, no soy protein powders and I do have two favorites. A couple I tried were almost unbearable and I had to choke them down. Thank goodness for sample packs, lol.
So, in my opinion, Vega One Vanilla Chi was unbelievably good, however it only has 15g of protein and, for me, is not enough. I decided to go with Plant Fusion Vanilla Bean and it is very good as well. Plant fusion has 21g of protein, a little better. I make smoothies containing the protein powder, unsweetened coconut milk, ground flax seed meal and frozen fruit...very yummy!
The no whey, no soy option has made me a lot more comfortable about what I'm consuming. I don't know why but whey seems to disagree with me, probably due to an intolerance or something like that.
Curious about others experience with protein powders, either kind. And has anyone else found an alternative to the whey/soy powders that works well for you?
