Running with no pause…
My sister always teases me that I don’t sit still and although I have never felt this is true but I have to admit to being a very busy person. I loving being active and busy as much as I enjoy a cozy corner with a good book and blanket. The difference I’m finding is that I tend to NEED the corner, book and blanket a little more often than I ever used to and I’m not sure I like it. I used to be able to run full throttle with work, kids, sports, travel with barely a pause for breath yet this season appears to have knocked the wind out of me even though I’m in much better shape than I have been in years.
I’m chalking it up to “42”. 40 didn’t do it for me but 42 has brought some changes for me. I need my down time or else I crash and burn. FOR DAYS!
Until this year I wasn’t a napper, didn’t need them and didn’t want them – I might “miss something”. I have no idea what I would miss but it would be a damn shame if I did! So I nap, sometimes.
Until this year I didn’t have healthy food cravings. This year I have craved “salads”. YEP, I have had times where I had to have a giant salad loaded with vegi’s and some pine nuts and just a splash of vinegar-n-oil plus a dash of salt-n-pepper. So I ate lots of salads! And LOVED them. Amazing the combinations you can create.
Until this year I didn’t feel like a vitamin made a difference. This year I did a little research and found a vitamin, after some trial and error that works for me. I feel a difference if I forget to take my vitamin.
Until this year I didn’t have to schedule weekends to chill at home. To fit in some R&R that would still include exercise, I’m not talking total couch potato but s slow down and listen to your body, enjoy your home time. So I scheduled. One coming up next weekend because the past FIVE weeks have been insane. Hubby even planned an evening away from home for this Friday but I asked him for rain check. I just want to stay home. I’m never home. So I’m staying home. I think….maybe my energy will be back FINALLY!
All I know is I’m going to continue to listen and learn and work to give my body what it needs to do what I want to do, when I want to do it so I can do it for a long long time cuz I don’t want to miss ANYTHING!
