Making Progress!!!

Wednesday, January 23, 2013

I broke down last week and decided to weigh on our home scale and start using it to track my weight. It is as accurate as the Doctors digital scale, and I am not always weighing me in my coat, shoes, and half the time with a pocketful of change in the jacket I sometimes have on in the Doctor's Office. It isn't their fault, it is just I forget to take my coat off and that I have a pocketful of change in it besides; and I am never comfortable taking my shoes off, because they are hard for me to get back on by myself (I am disabled). So, when I weighted before my Doctors appt. last week , I finally got my weight at home and today when I weighted in, I had dropped 1.8 lbs (and it has been 5 days ago). So, obviously I can do this, and I am starting to feel much better about it. I was a little worried that my age and my limited mobility may keep me from loosing anything, and this is proving I can do it!!!!

    Yes you can!

I weighed at the doctor's office once when I was very pregnant. "Oh no, Dr. West, I gained 5 pounds in one week!" I said.

"Put your purse down and weigh again," he answered.

Yup, my purse weighed 4-1/2 pounds.

Wonderful! :) You can do this. You may even want to check out some of the Sparks videos, they have several that you can do right in a chair, many with no equipment. :) Keep up the great work! HUGS!

Love your blog! Made me laugh so hard. It reminded me of my experience when I had a roll of quarters in my pocket- my doctor was not happy with my weight gain! emoticon
Keep your positive attitude- you are doing it- good for you!
