Checking in....
Finding balance and a better way to track my goals this year....spark people Other Goals tab. So here's what is new and what is tracking...

I just did my first 5k of the year. I need to upload my pics and post some here. It was called the Electric Run and there were over 6000 people there. It was a glow in the dark race and the environment was very fun. I jogged with my BFF, daughter and a few others. I've decided to log at least one 5k a week whether it's in a race, in the neighborhood or on the treadmill. This week it was on the treadmill.

I'm on day 22 of at least 10 burpees a day. Tonight I got them in at 11 pm but I still got them in!

I'm a pescatarian so I pretty much get more than the required servings of fruits and veggies a day. My latest thing that I'm trying lots of new recipes with is quinoa.

Still getting up early on Saturday morning to co-lead a group of dedicated women in boot camp. I'm becoming more comfortable as a teacher.

On Feb 7th I start Women Living Healthy...a care group for my church dedicated to helping women who are working to get and/or stay healthy. I've never taught anything like this before and I'm looking forward to the accountability and the opportunity to help others.

I didn't so much as make resolutions this year as I made goals. I wanted to remember my goals so I set them up on the Other Goals tab and have been checking things off daily and weekly.

I haven't found that magic pot of gold that we refer to as my goal weight but I'm still working on getting closer.

I still battle mentally with the scale. After I had worked out really hard and eaten well for two weeks I decided to weigh myself. I gained 1.6 lbs. Still upsets me so I don't weigh very often for that reason. My daughter was the first to point out that I looked thinner and stronger and that it was muscle. I love her! Not for saying that to me but for learning much younger than I ever did that the number on the scale on any given day isn't that important.

We've been trying to make more new recipes and trying new veggies. I'm now on a crazy papaya kick. Sliced with lime juice and a drizzle of honey.

I'm part of a new 10 minute a day challenge group that is coming together to start on Feb 1 designed to help others who need help in getting consistent even with just 10 minutes. All these things add up to helping me remember that every movement is good for you.

I'm still here and I'm still pushing. Some days it's in the right direction and other days not so much. Sparkpeople, Clean Eating, and Beach Body keep me going.
Each day is a new opportunity and a clean slate. Tonight was a fun night of Mexican food and a movie with my BFF. Afterward we jogged a half mile and I did my burpees. I'll finish my night out now with a little yoga to wind down, and then get up tomorrow and start all over with healthy food and a new workout.
What about you?
