Swimming = Diabetes Medication

I swim like a frog, but I can do it for a very long time, and I enjoy it. Added bonus: it pulls my blood sugar down more than any other sport I've tried. Today, I swam for 30 minutes, and my glucose level went from 148 to 87. That's as good as another dose of medication, and a whole lot healthier.

    What a great discovery! Isn't it wild that something we enjoy so much can be good for us? I think many of us were trained to think "diets" were dull and exercise was work and not play.

    I love to swim--I find lap swimming very meditative. My swim bag is all packed but I'm having trouble getting motivated. It's only 9 degrees outside and just the thought of swimming gives me a chill. I think I'll workout at home until this deep freeze passes. LOL

    I love to swim also! I am not diabetic....YET! But I am trying not to be!!!! So I think your swim idea is great! Did you swim 30 minutes solid, or take swim aerobic type exercises in the pool...?
This has motivated me. Time to get back to the pool! emoticon
