2013 Day 22 Sucks Getting Sick

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

Well folks, I went to the clinic last night and the verdict is in. I have strep throat. Bleh. I am currently on antibiotics and had to take a day off of work. I hate missing work. There's always so much to do to get caught back up. Oh well, I consider myself lucky. Apparently one of the senior girls has mono. Things could always be worse!

A downside to my throat being so raw is that I haven't been able to eat much. An upside is that I haven't been that hungry. Yesterday I ate a bunch of mandarin oranges and a lot of throat soothing drops while I wait for the antibiotic to kick in. Today it's soup and sherbet. I sure haven't had a problem with staying under my calories.

I've been reading a lot of SP success stories lately. I've lost about 40 pounds and am nowhere near close to being at my goal weight but I will keep trudging along. Because one day I want to be able to stand up and say I did it too!

It's a bummer to be sick. Hopefully it doesn't stick around very long and you get to feeling better son. Sounds like you're doing a great job.
