My Day: Another good day at work. Positive Attitude prevailed. Cleaned out my entire bottom file drawer ... seriously, it had been piling since Halloween (the wonderful world of holiday retail). I ordered Easter Lilies and the first of the flowers and vegetables for my garden department. It is a bit strange when I woke up to 1 degree temp this morning.
My Diet: I'm eating within calorie range but stayed away from the gym again today. I'm leery of exercising then walking out in the bitter cold with my sport clothing on. I'm better off exercising at home, proceeding with my de-cluttering.
My Resolution: FlyLady not only helps you declutter your home, but your mind as well. Your mind is more at ease if you know what the State of your Union is .... as in a budget, and include your significant other.
I anticipated this last week and downloaded this cool app for my phone, "Home Budget." Itís an easy app that doesnít require you to be synced with your checking account, no fear of identity theft. So, I spent an hour and a half plugging in numbers and doing a budget for the next 3 months. It actually helped me to save a few dollars. I made the required copy for my DH so he is aware. Traditionally, I pay the bills but it struck me how unfair Iíve been to him AND myself by not knowing each day what the State of our Union is. So, that mission is complete and I feel accomplished.
Now to explain the embarrassing part of my day. Remember last night was to clean under my bed? I joked that it surly wonít be as bad as finding a paystub from 2004 in my desk. Iím not going to joke anymore.
On the bookshelf above my bed, a tiny yellow envelope fell out of a book. In it were 3 CDís, decorated by my daughter. I could tell it was a gift to me from her, but I cannot remember why or when she gave it to me. It was probably more than 2 years ago. After work, I slipped a CD into the player for the commute home and it was a lovely set of songs that I believe she associates with me and her step dad as well. It is a treasure, one that I could have enjoyed all this time if I had not ďstash and dashed.Ē I did text her today and thanked her for the gift!
And they say you canít find buried treasure in your home Ö Iíve debunked that theory.
