With a time of 3:28:31, I completed my first Half Marathon. The GPS says it was 13.5 miles...so I'm super happy with my time!
Frankly, I'm just super happy that I finished!
I want to thank everyone who told me that I could, that provided insight, encouragement, advice and support. You all helped me during those moments when I thought I couldn't get thru the training. I was thinking of you all on the course, and the supportive thoughts along the way.
It's a great place to run (or walk) a race. It's well organized, plenty of drinks, and some decent goodies for anyone thinking of doing a runDisney race.
There were a decent amount of spectators, fun signs...my favorite were the variations on "Worst Parade Ever"...I about cried when we passed a private home around mile 7.5 with a little girl in the front window, holding her Tinkerbell wings, and waving to us all. She was adorable. There was also a group of 5 or 6 little girls, all dressed up in various princess costumes, that wanted to high 5 everyone. I made to sure to get them all! How awesome that these young ladies get to see that girls can run too! There were several High School bands, and cheerleaders. Lots of stuff to keep you motivated.
I'm a little bummed that I did not have enough confidence in myself to sign up for the Dumbo Double Dare ahead of time. Now it's sold out. I'm going to have to stalk the charity sights for my chance at it.
Until then, time to keep in shape for Princess...
