In 3 days alone I may've undone a whole week or 2's worth of effort.
Saturday - had ethnic dinner with a group of friends. We all take turns cooking one weekend a month, mine was Slovak. Very carb-heavy, the only vegetable present was cabbage.
Sunday - explored Boulder and did take a 45-minute hike, but then dinner was at a burger joint and I gave it to the onion straw burger, a greasy half-pound mess covered in cheese and deep-fried onion straws. Plus onion rings as a side.
Monday - MLK day, we went to a Brazillian steakhouse for lunch (since it was half the price of dinner) as we had the day off. All you can eat salad bar with cheeses, potato and pasta salad, cheese rolls. Then all you can eat 16 different kinds of meat, we had lamb chops, pork loin, sirloin, ribeye, prime rib, sausages, chicken, bacon-wrapped filet...
Soooooooo you can see how I'm a bit concerned how that will play out on the scale and in the fit of my jeans this week. But honestly, I don't regret it that much. I knew every step of the way what I was getting into, and chose to enjoy life and experience those things with friends rather than turn it down to sit home alone and eat salad. And I feel that's part of having this 'dieting' thing be a lifelong habit and not just a quick fix. You need to enjoy life and treat yourself occasionally because being 'miss perfect diet' 100% of the time would make it a chore. And I would eventually rebel and fall off the wagon in a big way, or just give up altogether. So I just need to stay vigilant about portion sizes and going to the gym, and it will all balance out again.
