New diet is working!!

OK, let me explain... by "diet" I don't mean some temporary hokey plan that I'm following because if I do I will magically lose 10lbs in 7 days without exercising, blah blah blah. By "diet" I am referring to the types of foods that are on my life menu, or that are available for me to consume. I have eliminated soy, corn, dairy milk, artificial sweeteners, gluten, wheat, HFCS, GMO foods, refined sugar, processed junk, and anything else that isn't real food. I am also trying to opt for low GI foods whenever possible (which isn't really that hard after eliminating all the previous things). Since making this change I am having much greater success at losing weight, I feel so much better, and I know I am taking a huge step toward a healthier version of myself. I really don't even have cravings. The closest thing to 'cravings' that I'm having occur when I'm really tired and it would be so much easier to drive through and pick something up or eat a frozen dinner. I have a low metabolism (hypothyroid, insulin resistance, NASH) so I am eating on the low end of my calorie requirement, but I don't go hungry. If I start to feel like it isn't enough, I will eat more. I am hoping that my body will begin to work more efficiently without all of these chemicals and added hormones, and it may become easier for me to lose weight as my energy levels increase. For now, the 2lbs a week I am losing on 1200 cal and under is very encouraging.

    "Tired" has a lot to do with it. When I'm tired, the body cries for fuel, but since usually I can't take the time right then to sleep to recharge, I end up trying to consume calories to recharge. Not a good idea--!

If our first self-health rule is "Water," then the second must be "Sleep." Of course, that's a classic example of "Do as I say, not as I do," lol...

    That's mostly the way I'm trying to eat too. You should do some blogs about what you eat throughout the day. I'm always looking for ideas. Glad it's working for you. Don't eat too low or you'll stall out,
