Strange

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

Today is my first day back in office since the announcement that I am leaving. It is very strange. People don't know whether to include or exclude me in discussions.

I realized this weekend that this is a chance for me to "re-make" myself as far as co-workers go. I've been here a very long time and people know just about everything about me, my family, etc, and that's not always a good thing in the workplace. I am going to be very careful about what I share at my new job. I want to make a good first impression and build on that. I just have to figure out how to do it! I am generally shy when it come to meeting new people.

new is a fun cahllenge and leaving the old both sad and exciting. treat your current co workers like always, be sure to let them know you will miss them but you need new in your life and you will have an awesome transition.

emoticon on the new job, transition stages are always difficult, its like being born again. Once you get to your new job you will do well because as you left the other one, it would have felt like a weight had been lifted off you; being unhappy is a huge weight to bear.

I relish "short timers syndrome." Be glad you're not involved in any of the BS anymore and count down the days girlie.

Good idea at the new job too. It's sometimes nice to have a socially clean slate!

That is always the weirdness of leaving. It's just been so long for you that you don't remember. You are going to do great. But I agree holding back at first is not a bad thing. But not so much you miss out on a real friendship.
