I get spark mail from people asking for tips on weight loss and food prep...
So here are a few of mine, I am sure I have shared before but we get new people all the time....

The number one thing I think is find what works for you, don't deprive your self ...learn moderation, portion size and weigh your food until you can eye ball a serving size, I still can't and I measure 90% of the time....

start off slow, make small changes and work with what you got....If you hate doing something you won't stick with it.....so find a way to replace foods you love with a lighter version, find ways to move more....I post this every time....I march while I brush my teeth, not only does that add to my step count, but it gets me going in the morning, It's my warm up, then I go exercise...this might not work for you but it does for me....I lay out my workout clothes, right there in the bathroom , so no excuses...don't even think about excuse just keep doing it....
I love my pedometer and I put in on first thing in the morning and take it off last thing at night, seeing those steps gives me motivation or a kick if it's too low....hey it works for me....

Now food, eat healthy, it won't happen over night , or in a week , or a month ore maybe a year, it's a work in progress, it takes time and effort....but guess what you are worth it....really you are...
I have been with Sparkpeople almost 7 years and I still am working the program....every day is something new...I try not to look back, if I had a bad day, I try to figure out what I can do better...

loosing weight it not easy but the real challenge comes with keeping it off..

Have I been perfect, no... I have gained some of the weight back, lost it...and gained...there are 10 pounds out there just waiting to come back.....I don't have the answer to why....I just know that I MUST keep working and fighting to keep healthy....it is a struggle every day..

for me exercise has become a part of my daily life, like brushing my teeth, no matter where I am I can find ways to move....my struggle is food....I love to eat, I am addicted to food....I work on this all day long, telling myself ...NO NO NON, reminding myself it is not meal time.....I have to over come mindless eating, nibbling while I prepare our meals.....it is a daily battle for me....

I have lost over 200 pounds, have keep it off except for those 10 that sneak back on and off....
make your choice and stick with it....it is worth it


also one last thing for people like me who had a huge amount to loose, it isn't going to happen over night, it takes a long time...it took me 3.5 years to loose 210 pounds and now I am working at 3.5 years of keeping it off...it's hard and you will need a lot of support every day....so learn to love your self no matter what you way.....
