Ch-ch-ch-chia!! Plus other stuff

Hi everyone!


I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend!

So starting today I am starting to take chia seeds. The first time I heard about chia seeds immediately the first thought I had was the chia pet! lol According to my nutritionist, I shouldn't be taking flax seed so I started to do research on my own on what "superfood" I could take alongside my fresh juices. I watched Hunger for Change and they mentioned the chia seeds and some benefits that occur when taking the chia seed. They are supposed to be taken once a day, and it has no taste so you can mix it with foods and drinks. I will keep everyone posted on how I'm doing with it! (1st day was today!)

Today I made a "Mean Green" juice which consisted of kale, cucumber, celery, lemon, green apples, and ginger. I haven't tried it yet but I'm looking forward to later today! I made sure I ate breakfast this morning and I'm set a goal to drink at least 8 glasses of water emoticon I'm really bad about not drinking water. I have been good about my sleep and I hope to continue!

Lately I have been thinking about what's motivating me to lose the weight and so I decided I am going to compile a list and when I finish I will share my thoughts.

On my desktop at work I use the sticky note tool to write notes to myself so on them I have my short-term goals and long-term goals plus another note reminding myself that I am an amazing, beautiful, intelligent human being and to keep smiling!

The reason why my nutritionist recommended chia and not flax is because I already have messed up hormones and take meds for them and taking flax would throw it off and also because it slows down the blood flow.

    I'm curious how that juice tasted too! I keep meaning to make more green smoothies, but they usually end up being mostly fruit lol.

    I've used chia seeds too, they're great in smoothies and yogurt!

    I make this green drink nearly every day, I love it, so energizing. I like the chia seeds too.

    I've been slacking on using my chia seeds. My dietician said to at least 1300mg of Omega 3's a day and the chia seeds have a much better count than other sources for less. I'm with pp, why no flax? I was told to only use ground flax though because otherwise it is just fiber and not a source of Omega's.

    Just curious, what was your nutritionist's reasoning about the flax seed? I use both but chia seeds more. I hate how much conflicting information there is. Like edamame. I thought edamame was good but now I just read something that said to stay away from it. So confusing!

    Anyway, I love your positive self affirmation! That part of the video made an impression on me especially but I haven't done it yet. I really struggle with it! I need to make an effort though.

    Be sure you let us know how that juice tastes. It sounds so healthy but I'm struggling to get into fresh ginger. I wish I could like things just because I want to like them.
