Getting Back to the Basics

Borrowed the following from a friend's blog.

We get so caught up in the latest technology, fitness trend, nutrition craze - while these can be useful, they sometimes get in the way of the basics which are key to our fitness, health and well-being.

1. Eat in moderation
2. Eat a diet that is varied and full of the nutrients your body needs
3. Hit your daily net calorie target value
4. Do a little exercise
5. Eschew stupid things like fruit juice fasting and diet pills
6. Focus on your long term health
7. Be forgiving of yourself when you slip up
8. Be mindful what you eat and the decisions you make

Try it - I think you'll like the results.

    Dolly, you are on the right track. If one is really concentrating on nutrition and not empty calories, do exercise and cut out junkfood then one is half way there. Congrats and all the best for 2013!

    Thank you for sharing that!! The basics work! I don't believe on being on a diet. I believe it is a lifestyle change that will get you to your goals and keep you there. Just focus on living healthier that is the greatest step you can make each day emoticon

    Thanks for sharing! Getting back to the basics is such a great foundation to build on. Nothing wrong with having to sometimes hit the RESET button. Once the basics have been mastered, then it will be time to challenge yourself to try new things. Spark on!
