Calorie Calamity

Tuesday, January 22, 2013

What is wrong with me? I'm not doing well with this whole calorie thing. I know what to do, I know how to do it but when the time comes, Hungry attacks and I eat more than I should. Even now, I've had my breakfast and am sitting here watching the clock for my 10 am snack. I need to work on this.

emoticon Burn 325/day - done.

emoticon Cut calories 300/day - ha! over, way over my range. Sigh.

emoticon Walk 30 min/day - it was 3 when I got to work; at lunch it was no better. I stayed in and did my DVD. (It was a walking one so I sort of did this.)

emoticon Cardio 30 min/day - Walking DVD at lunch

Maybe this will help?

P.S.: Minus 3 this morning. I need to be a snowbird and head to a warmer climate.

I have to agree with Irish... since I've added in protein to my breakfasts, I do much better and I'm not hungry until lunch. I eat a greek yogurt with granola during the week. The weekends when I have a little extra time, I'll make some eggs or something more elaborate. Just a thought...

Stay warm! I'll think happy thoughts for you!

I hear your pain there, I would def. fly with you. I HATE cold weather, I've really had to tie myself up and carry me to the garage to use the treadmill. I am on Day 10 of walking...

I agree with Irish about adding the protein, I find that really makes a difference. That said I also know that for the first two weeks when I'm trying to get my eating under control I'm like you, totally focused on when my next food grazing is. 10:00 seems to take forever. I noticed that last week I stopped focusing so much and there were days when I even didn't need to snack.

Protein helps me feel more full. I now *require* that I have some type of protein at every meal/snack. It helps. Maybe some chicken breast, or a piece of low fat cheese. Some of my favorite combinations are listed below:

1 egg with thin ham slice and 1/2 english muffin, non-fat milk
greek yogurt with fruit stirred in
slice of toast with natural peanut butter, non-fat milk

apple, sliced with 1 ounce of low fat cheese
celery stuffed with lowfat cream cheese
2 ounces of chicken breast with 1 ounce of cheese, cut in cubes to *snack*
banana with 2 tbsp natural peanut butter

Just some of my *go-to* ideas - I hope they help, but more importantly find what works for YOU.

Keep Hungry and your Inner Brat where they belong - in the time-out corner gal! YOU are in charge of what you do - no one else - and I believe you can do this!

I'll not complain about our 25-30 degree mornings lately!

What are you eating for breakfast that's leaving you hungry? Maybe you need to change ~what~ you eat to help you eat less, or less often?

...I know! This 21* degree weather in PA is not conducive to me going outside!

Think Spring! emoticon

Minus 3 degrees? And I thought 25 degrees was bad this morning! Yikes!
