Scale Stuck......

Hello Tuesday Listeners....
I have been busily caring for my mother this week and extra stressed with life in general! This lead to no extra eating (honestly) but did leave me feeling to tired to go to the gym. I ate to my max calories daily but not over, and was not able to move to scale. I thought that even though I ate within my calories, even if I didn't make it to the gym I'd see some results. Thoughts?

    Stress severely affects the body. There is never a guarantee that you will lose weight, even when you do everything 'right'. Eating within calorie range doesn't necessarily mean getting the proper nutrition, so if all your calories were from high fat, high sugar foods you probably won't lose weight. For some people, exercise is more important than food intake for weight loss, for others it's the opposite, and for some it's a combination of the two.

    Every one of these could be a reason why you didn't lose weight. Try using non-scale measurements to measure your progress and remind yourself that doing anything is better than doing nothing and it takes a long time to change your body, so enjoy the journey and don't expect a sprint.

    I know helping your mom is first priority, but you need to make some time for yourself. Stressful events take your body into a protection mode. If you can't get to the gym a couple of times this week, step out and take a walk. Exercising is a great way to relieve stress and clear the mind. You can do it.

    More sodium than you thought, maybe? Or not enough water? When I go over on sodium allotment (before SP, I didn't realize how much I was consuming!), or I don't drink enough water, my body seems to try and hold on to the fluids - maybe that's what's happened with you? Hang in there!

    This can go two way: your stress will cause weight to go on (you may have put some on) or you can stay the same. Use the tape to see.

    If you don't go to the gym you may have been eating too much as the tracker says eat this because you are going to do so many minutes in the gym.
