Exodus 20:4
"You shall not make for yourself an idol in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below.

Hello guys and gals.
Today was another good day. I have had a bunch of them lately I hope they don't come to an end, lol. I added another recipe to sparkpeople.com. I made some chicken and sausage creole and it was excilent. Here is the link to it, recipes.sparkpeople.com/
. I figure next time I am going to cut out the sausage and add one more pound of chicken. I may even add some shrimp. I have made this in many different ways and I just love it.

I finally started my strength training on my legs. I used one of the workouts that the genreator made for me, and it worked real well. I did 35 minutes of cardio on the elliptical before the workout, and burned 434 calories. Today was measurement day and I lost 1 inch in my waist and hips. My thighs got bigger but I think I measured them wrong last week. My arms stayed at 15 inches. All in all it was a good measurement day.

I spent 4 hours today planning my garden and what vegetables I was going to grow. Here is the verdict of what I am growing: Lettuce, Radishes, Garlic, Onions, Carrots, Jalapenos, Tomatoes, Pole Beans, Squash, Cucumber, Zucchini, and Potatoes. I have never grown Lettuce, Radish, Garlic, Tomatoes or Pole beans, so I am looking forward to see the results. I am going to build a trellis for my Pole Beans and Cucumbers and grow them over a path. I have never done that before so I might as well give it a try.

I have thought about this commandment a lot, and have heard many things considering idols. The definition of idol is: 1. object of adoration: somebody or something greatly admired or loved, often to excess, 2. object worshiped as god: something that is worshiped as a god, e.g. a statue or carved image, 3. forbidden object of worship: in monotheistic religions, an object of worship other than the one God. That covers a wide variety. I know there was a time I spent every waking moment, when I wasn't at work, on a certain computer game. It was an idol. Anything that you do that takes your time from God can be an idol. Especially if you are putting it before God, and His time.

Dear Heavenly Father I thank You for Your word and for being faithfull. Lord I ask that You would help us refocus our attention and love on You and not the idols of this world. In Jesus' name I pray, Amen.

In my workplace, I am one of the rare and few who refuses to bend my knee and bow to the almighty ball. Our school even REQUIRES that the ball team practice on Christmas Eve, and again on Christmas morning. Then they have the nerve to fuss about the break down of the family unit. Well, duh! Look what is being taught by example. Yes, our world is full of idols, and if we are not careful, they can consume us.

Keep your blogs coming! It is such a blessing to hear/read God's word and have people share it with you. I just know that you will succeed in your new lifestyle changes. We just can't seem to change unless God helps us.

Congratulations emoticon on planning a garden! I would love to do one, but my disabilities hamper me in so many ways. My DH says we may do so tomatoes and some peppers, but that will be all. I will just live vicariously through yours! emoticon emoticon

Have a blessed day and wonderful journey to the new you!
