This is day one of my sparkpeople account. I currently weigh around 270 lbs. My scale's battery is dead so as soon as i get a new one i will update that. My goal is to be 220 lbs by July 19th 2013. That is my daughter Micayla's 2nd birthday. It won't be an easy road but I am determined to get not only myself to a healthier weight but also my family. I hope that my changes can reflect on my fiance and my children and we can set a good example for them.
My favorite exercise is Zumba. Me and my best friend started doing zumba about two weeks ago. We have been doing it 2-3 days a week. My goal is to do it 3-5 times a week for anywhere from 40-60 minutes a day. I also want to work in 30 minutes of strength training 3 days a week. I am also trying to add in other little things, like going up and down my stairs more often during the day, parking farther away in the parking lot, and staying on my feet more through out the day.
Nutrition is definitely my downfall. I am not a vegetable eater. I am not a big fruit eater. I do enjoy whole grains, lean protein, low/non-fat dairy. I am trying to find ways to get more vegetables and fruits into my diet. We have a hard time with fresh fruits and vegetables going bad in my house they never get eaten fast enough. So we usually end up going with frozen. I am going to try to follow the spark people diet plan and incorporate it into meals for my fiance and the kids. My goal right now is to eat 2 fruits or vegetables every day. Made half of that goal today, which isn't so bad considering i made the goal at 9:30 at night! Tomorrow will be better, i already have 2 out of 3 meals for myself planned and working on the third one in my head!
I'm excited at the prospect of a happier healthier life.
