IS CAKE AND ICE CREAM!!!

That's right. And it's not "Here in my arms"! Tee Hee!

But guess what just was? Well not in my arms, but in my belly...

Cake and Ice Cream. Now hold your horses! Not just any cake and ice cream...Somewhat healthy cake and ice cream. Can I just say Thank God for Pinterest? Seriously. I know when you look under the food category more than 75% of the food you see on there is like brownies stuffed in cookies and rolled in sugar and then deep fried, but every so often you find wonderful healthy food blogs.

Now back to this Cake and Ice Cream. Thankfully I discovered Chocolate Covered Katie's Single Serving Cake recipes. This is a God Send for me considering my past cookie and cupcake binges. Yeah those aren't pretty. So tonight after my very delicious Lentil and Rice stuffed whole wheat tortilla with Creamy Avocado Sauce I whipped up the following recipes:

One-Minute Chocolate Cake

Banana and Peanut Butter Smoothie

So freaking good! I cannot lie! Other Recipes that I'm obsessed with at the moment include

Yes! They are all good. Put them in your face. Now!!

Ha. So onward from that food-gasim to what's going on in the ever changing adventures of the somewhat crazy and awesome person that has typed up this blog you are currently eye-balling.

First Thing: Juicing

Yes I have started to juice. Yes I did watch Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead. Yes, I did buy the same juicer that Joe had on there. And Yes I do feel better now that I started to Juice. The first week I started to juice I lost about 6 pounds, probably water weight. Then my period and a few wild weekends have happened and I have gained 4 of it back, but I'm trying to control my intake on the weekends. The weekends are the Devil you know that? I have got to get a grip on them. Anyone with any advice on how to get through the weekends without binging please feel free to share! I have included a picture of my Beet, Cabbage, Carrot, Pear Juice. It's really tasty. I think the beets give it an earthy type flavor, people often describe it as dirt, but I like it!

And this is my Kale, Spinach, Cucumber, Celery, Apple, and Lemon Juice.

I enjoy Mason Jars if you haven't noticed. :)

One bad thing about juicing is JUICE TONGUE!!

And this was the morning of the first time I used my juicer. Please don't judge how rough I look!

Second Thing: I had a Colonic today

Groupon Offer. Always wanted to know what the big deal was. Pretty Good Experience. No, I didn't lose 10 pounds. Didn't even lose 1 pound. But I did enjoy it and had an energy specialist give me a foot massage and a hand massage so it wasn't all bad. Yes, i have been to the bathroom like 8 times tonight. I actually didn't go to yoga for the fear that I couldn't trust a fart. Oh the Horror! Would I do it again?? Perhaps if I had pain and really needed one. What can I say, Curiosity got the best of me!

Third Thing: I'm trying to Eat A Little Cleaner

Thank you Food Inc, Vegecated, Hungary for a Change, Forks Over Knives, Waistland and In Defense of Food for making me think about what I've been actually been putting in my mouth in the past. No I'm not here to preach that you shouldn't eat processed food that has more than 5 ingredients in it, or that you should eat 6 small meals a day, or that you should drink green tea everyday to boost your metabolism. I would never do that. But I am trying these things, not for weight loss, but to feel better about myself. And why do I need to feel better about myself? I'll show you.

Do you see that? Yep that's an all natural grey strike right down the back of my noggin. I actually enjoy the strike, kinda. 23 and grey hair already...how rough can my life be! :)

So yes I have kinda revamped my kitchen for cleaner eating...

And I've also been eating things like Portabello Stuffed Acorn Squash with Stewed Greens

And Overnight Chia Oatmeal

Even Pikachu Loves Oatmeal!

I know I'm eating more calories and that doesn't bother me cause feel like they're healthy calories. Makes sense right?

So that's it for now! Besides Surgery which is in a little over a month. Getting a little nervous, but I'm strangely super excited as well! Like I said, Good things are coming people! Good things!

Look At this Face! I cannot tell a lie!

This is one if you like porridge, add nearly a whole tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa powder in before cooking it, (I also add vanilla protein shake, but a tsp of maple syrup or honey would be pretty good in it too) gets rid of all my chocolate cravings for the day, and cocoa powder itself has very few calories ( I believe about 10 per tbsp.)

These recipes you speak of sound delicious. I'm glad you're feeling good!! Healthy is awesome, and we all take a different path, so there haha. You should enjoy that streak... I'm always wondering when mine is going to come in. My Mom has a pure white one right in the middle on the front of her head...

BTW, you made me look like a dork in front of my co-workers - why?? Well, I'll tell you. It's because I bust out laughing super loud when you said why you didn't go to yoga. Yeah, I'm into juvenile humour. Farts will always be funny. I'm glad you didn't go to yoga... for safety's sake, haha!!

Look at you! That's great, I'm so happy you found something that works for you.

I found Chocolate Covered Katie a (couple? few?) years ago. I like her recipes, but since I'm still counting what goes into my meals, I haven't done too many of her recipes because she doesn't count calories-- just uses healthier versions. But everything looks delicious and the couple of recipes I've tried have been great!

Keep up the amazing work! :)

Pikachu loves everything. Go Go Power Juicer! If you're feeling better with juicing and eating clean then that's awesome and all that matters!
Sorry, no idea how to get through the weekend without self sabotaging, cause I do it too. Alcohol on my girls weekends are the devil. I try to stick to stick to my weekly routine though and not eat a lot of food for breakfast and lunch and then if I know I'm going to have a bigger dinner, I allow myself (within moderation). Its those days though when we go out for breakfast and dinner that get me. Stupid food.

Thanks for the recipes! I love me some chocolate!

It is so wierd after craving chocolate all my 57 years of life, I have quit wanting it. Wierd right? Anyway, I think your kitchen stock is well worth the effort of photographing. It is a work of art! What beautiful, colorful, healthy foods and they will make you radiant as well.

It is funny, but until a year or so ago, I thought a bell pepper was a bell pepper no matter what color it is, but I found out the various colors are from the various nutritional elements in them. Same thing with nuts, all nuts are not the same in nutritional content. i guess it just goes to show you that I have a lot of learning yet when it comes to the nutrition in foods (or lack of).

Weekends really are the devil aren't they. Please share if you come up with a way to avoid a weekend binge. Even working doesn't seem to do it for me!

Damn you! I want that cake now. I had to stop visiting Katie's blog because I want to devour everything on it. At least, the 1 minute cake is single serving and not a batch. I end up eating whole batches of things if I make them.

About binging, I try to abstain from places where I'm likely to do so, like buffets. When it's going out with friends, I try to fill up on water instead of the appetizers while we yap and don't do dessert. If they ask why, I claim I'm broke rather than I'm health conscious. And like I mentioned above, I can't make a batch of anything sweet unless it's on its way out of the house in the next 24 hours.

I've been trying to be more conscious about what I'm eating. I am trying to opt for whole food rather than food products. My vice has been Sugar Free Jello Pudding this past week, but fruits and veggies have been my go-to for months. Calories are not just calories - quality matters. Just because it fits in my budget, Oreo shakes shouldn't be a staple in my diet.
