Scale Ain't Moving..

Monday, January 21, 2013

You would swear sometimes I haven't been on Spark for 4 years and 4 days (as of today) for the way I act sometimes.

Anywho.. I have been doing pretty well with my cardio and I've even started using the Total Gym everyday. I am an avid calorie counter, so I know how much I consume all day, everyday. Even with all of that, the scale ain't moving.

It then occurred to me that I may not be eating enough. I have to admit I hate the whole "you have to eat enough to keep your metabolism from slowing down" thing, because most of the time I'm just not hungry. I never was a "big eater," but it was the type of foods I ate plus no activity that kept the weight on.

Now that I'm back to eating whole grain this or that, veggies and keeping the meat to a minimum, I'm only consuming about 800-900 calories a day. (That's after working out). So my body is holding on to the weight like a mama holding her newborn baby. It just won't let it go!

Starting today, I made sure to add a few extra hundred healthy calories to my diet and let's see if those numbers will start moving now. Hmph!!

Good luck! I actually had something similar happen lately. I decided I wanted to focus on building more muscle than I am currently catabolizing during weight loss, so I thought I'd bump up the calories by 200-300/day.... I'm losing weight even faster now, go figure.

If you eat too few calories your body will go into starvation mode--so definitely up them (as you said you did and were going to). Wishing you blessings!!!!!
