Well..it's Monday again. And it's a Holiday for most people in the USA. Hubby has today off. ME? Not so much. This is one of the Fed holidays we don't have off at work. My next Holiday off is President Day in Feb. Oh well...I'm making the best of it.
I posted on Fri about Karry taking Miss Malia roller skating for the first time. Karry said she did pretty good. She only took Karry down once.
Here's some pictures Karry sent via text (Malia is the redhead on the right):
And this one...WOW...her hair is So long and just beautiful! Karry says it hard to get the tangles out but she found this oil that she uses on her hair that helps a lot:
Grandma may have to start looking for roller skates for both grandkids!
Caleb didn't get to go as he was in school. He's getting so big and I'm so proud of the young man he is becoming. Karry says they are going to try and come down over Spring Break.
Hubby is on day11 of his stop smoking adventure and he's a LOT less grumpy now. He's also noticing the smoke smell on everything and realizing that's all from him. So we Febrezed his car and got a air fresher for it. I also Febrezed the house. Anything to make it a bit easier for him.
The weekend was a bust for me on the eating side. Well Sunday was anyway. I found myself mindless "noshing" though out the day. I did get my laundry done early and maybe that was a problem as it left with little to do. So I'll learn from that (I hope!) and move on. Sat was a much better day. We were out and about most of the day. Lots of walking. I did OK with the grocery shopping. $96 at the base, $40 at Sam's Club, $50 at Costco, and about $20 Wally World (The only place I get the Dannon Light & Fit Greek yogurt in Pineapple). And we DID have a list for shopping. It just seemed to get longer the more we shopped! After the weekend it leaves me with $45 in my checking account. But I have gas in my car, bills are paid, and we have food. What more could I want? Other then winning the lottery of course!
I saw this stuff mentioned on TV and on line. It's called Sauté Express Sauté Starter from Land O Lakes. It's a combo of butter, olive oil, a variety of herbs and spices in a convenient square. It cooks and flavors chicken, fish or pork (I think it would work for beef too). It comes in a box of 6 squares (that's 12 servings as each square is 2 servings). It's 80 calories per serving. I used the Italian Herb on two chicken thighs and they turned out GREAT. Lots of flavor, tender, moist. I'm going to try them on fish and port too. And I'm thinking they would be great on streaks too.
I guess that's it for today. Have a great day if you're off work today and even if you aren't!
