How Do You Spend Your Time?

Monday, January 21, 2013

Time isn't like dollar bills $$$ or pennies -- where you can save a few for a rainy day! It's one of those use it or lose it things. You can waste you time, utilize your time, schedule your time, make good use of your time -- but you can't SAVE it. Gone is gone! It's like one of those sport watches where everyday at midnite all steps, etc. are erased again back to zero! It's the same with your time, midnite comes and goes: and here's another 24 hours for you.

Do you ever think when you see a sunset that it could be the last one you'll ever see?

And when you celebrate your daughter's graduation, little do you realize how fast the time will go before you celebrate her wedding, and then her first child!

We all get caught up in our busy lives. Except those of us who are unable to be busy, maybe because we're sick, or disabled, or have just lost our motivation.

It's time to take a look at our lives! Are we wasting our time on unimportant things when we could be building memories? Do you sit down to watch a TV show instead of stopping by to see a friend who isn't feeling well? Are you too tired to get up and go to church on Sunday? Maybe it would be more fun to go see a ballgame than to go to church, and it's your decision. But think over your decisions carefully, sometimes there is no tomorrow!

You're probably thinking I have to be a shriveled up, bitter old lady to write such a depressing blog! You'd be wrong. While there are lots of people busier than I, I'm very happy with my life but I am good at observing others, and it's so easy to think -- too late -- "what if......."

Time does fly - my baby turned 25 over Christmas... I miss having family close by and I a grateful for Skype so we can keep in touch and "see" each other.

Time was a hard thing for me just a month ago. Working 3rd shift seemed to suck all my time. I was to tired to do anything with the kids. I was always yelling it seemed for them to be quiet so I could sleep. It was not a good use of my time. I have recently transferred back to 2nd shift. I make such better use of my time now. I work 6 days straight and then off for 5 days straight. The six days are still hard cause I will only see the kids for an hour before school, but those 5 days off are right around the corner! They seem to be happier, I am not a walking zombie with no sleep yelling at everyone anymore! I go to the gym while they are at school and get my me time as well!

Great blog time is such an important thing! When I first started reading your blog, I thought of a cell phone commercial. How you can rollover your minutes if only you could do that with time! emoticon

Our motto is "Family First". We have a large family, so it takes some planning, but it is worth it!

I believe that your blog is just what I needed. This is my 2nd day without facebook. There was more negative and positive. Since I couldn't get away from the negative and games were consuming me. Let alone people's lives can be depressing in one way or another. I don't need this taking control of my life. If I can't control my time on it. I need to quit using it. And I wish smoking was as easy to quit.

I think sometimes we do take TODAY for granted.
I was in the 5th grade when a classmate was shot, he made me mad the day before and we never reconciled. Since then I always make sure to apologize after a fight or anything negative. Which is why you should be good to the important people in your life, because you never know.

I am trying to be more conscious of how I spend my time. I try to multi-task most of the time but I take lots of time for myself so that I don't feel stressed. Balance in all things!
