So in my multi-tasking glory yesterday I flooded my basement. Actually not even my basement--its a rental:( To start off--my washing machine broke last week. Not a good thing in a family of 7. So I am filling it manually with the hose in the wall until a part shows up. I really have this need to accomplish as much as possible every time I do anything. So I dutifully start filling the washer--then I go upstairs to get a broom. I end up cleaning out my desk, straightening the bathroom, filling my water so I can get a strength workout in while doing laundry. And the washer hose runs, and runs, and runs. Needless to say I make a massive mess. So glad my husband was good humored about it because I wanted to scream--so mad at myself!!
Did I get my strength workout in? Absolutely not. Did I drink wine. Absolutely yes.
This is just a classic example of me getting in my own way. It is time to slow down. I find I have a hard time focusing and a hard time accomplishing anything productive. Well--doing many things at once and not finishing the task at hand is the culprit. If I had done the strength workout after my bike workout then I wouldn't have been rushing to get things accomplished in the first place.
But for a change--I recognize my need to slow down. HUGE step for me:) My lesson for the week--slow down and finish what I start.
