Modified Run = Family Fun!

Yesterday was a day of procrastination. I got up late, we hurried breakfast and got to church at the last minute. We came home, I went grocery shopping (by myself!), we had some lunch and watched some football. A nice day with the family, but the original plan was to go for at least a 5 mile run with the hubby.
By this point we were all feeling lazy. The kids were playing video games, I was comfy on the couch and John was half asleep. Not for long...
I got up, went to my room and changed into my running clothes. John got jealous and said he wanted to run too. But it was a little late for that long run. So we had the kids put on sneakers and all went to the park together instead. They rode bikes and we ran, taking turns sprinting and staying behind waiting for Nathan slow poke (5). At the park, I played tag and raced with Nathan, John played catch with Connor, and Violet saw some friends and played with them.
So much fun!
We got out as a whole family and had active fun. We took advantage of the beautiful weather. We were silly. Then we ran/rode back home. It was late and we threw dinner plans out the window in favor of takeout, but we made healthier choices and enjoyed it.
Not the workout I had planned, but sometimes it is better to throw our "plan" out the window and just have fun.
